AccorHotels, number 1 hotel group in Africa For 40 years, AccorHotels is a major economic player in Africa with headquarters in Africa and Indian Ocean based in Casablanca. The group is the number one hotel group in terms of number of rooms in the continent (19,333) with more than 10,000 employees, 110 hotels in 20 countries, from the Maghreb to Southern Africa. News AccorHotels announced on Thursday (July 27th) an increase in its net earnings of 4.05% for the first half, triggered by the recovery of the activity in France. The group, headed by Sébastien Bazin, reported 77 million euros of net earnings and generated revenues of 922 million Euros, up 33.5% (8.3% on a constant basis) over the first half, according to a news release. In an interview in early July 2017 with Jeune Afrique, the CEO of AccorHotels confided that his group wants to “multiply efforts in Africa”. He believes that the continent has the largest growth potential in the next twenty years, with hotel infrastructure needs. “We want to be involved in this development”, he declared.
