5 startups from Cameroun come out on top in the annual ranking of the 100 most innovative African startups. This ranking published in February 2017 by MyAfricanStartUp, aims to support creation and innovation for the development of entrepreneurship in Africa. A good opportunity for investment for the Diasporans and other “business angels” who want to participate in the growth of the continent.

Kiro’o Games. It is the first game production studio in French-speaking Africa. Olivier Madiba’s company is now known for its role-playing video game “Aurion: The Legacy of the Kori-Odan”. It highlights the beauty and richness of African culture through the characters, the screenplay and the world in which the story unfolds.

“Gifted Mom”, created in 2013 by Alain Nteff, a computer engineer from Cameroun. The application reminds pregnant women of the dates of vaccinations, examinations and consultations during pregnancy, and the various precautions to be taken after delivery. Follow-up of the child after birth is also proposed.

“Himore Medical” is also a local company founded in 2014 by Arthur Zang who designs and manufactures intergrated systems (electronic and computerized systems) for medical use. In addition, Himore Medical manufactures and markets the CardioPad, a tablet that allows anyone briefly trained to measure cardiac physiological data.

Created in 2015 by Nino Njopkou, “Kerawa.com” gathers all types of ads in French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa. It has already more than one million visitors since its creation. Kerawa.com meets the needs of individuals as well as professionals who want to buy / sell and offer their services with thousands of ads in various categories (automobile, real estate, employment, IT, mobile, services).

Finally, “M-MuZiik”, is a combination AI and GSM technologies. Created in 2011 by Patrick Mveng, it is a start-up that provides music and information automatically retrieved on the Internet, anywhere, anytime, and in seconds.  The user just has to request it via SMS in French or English.

CEO Christian Kamayou and the MyAfricanStartUp team mobilized during months, to study and organize a selection of 100 young African startups among more than 800.

According to the founder, “The objective is to showcase the most recent and innovative companies, with a turnover of less than 1 million dollars annually, located in Africa, multicultural and operating in various fields of activities”.
