By 2015, the country had 26.8 million inhabitants for a Gross Domestic Product of $ 35.9 billion, or more than $ 1300 per inhabitant. As an intermediate-income country since 2010, the average economic growth over the last decade has been 6.5%. The second largest gold producer in Africa with more than $ 4.5 billion exported in 2015, this production is expected to keep on growing.
