As we all probably have noticed, the world is moving fast. Tech has evolved so much in the last decade that we can hardly remember what it was like without. Everyday new technology is being developed in practically every area possible. The domain of Human Resources (HR) is therein no exception. It is profitable as it helps for instance cut costs at many levels (including the recruitment process) and thus allows the company to save money . Companies might have to integrate them in order to attract and hire the best talent.

Video Job interview

One of the most modern elements in the Human Resources recruiting process is video interviewing. It is very simple and straightforward, easy to organize, cuts costs and allows a reevaluation. With the technological advancement, this new technique is being used more and more by recruiters, thus they can view more candidates for less money. A survey with responses from over 500 HR managers prove how trendy this is by showing that two thirds of recruiters use video job interviews(1).

Blockchain

Data is very important, perhaps nowadays even crucial. The apparition of blockchain has changed the way data is handled. Blockchain is a technology that establishes secure, transparent and error-free database from verified and accurate data. Now in HR, being granted access to such a database is invaluable. It becomes important in the sense that for every possible candidate who sends its resume, HR has to verify data and make sure that their employment story and references can be trusted. Thus blockchain facilitates this whole process and eliminate the manual processes.

Mobile recruiting

Mobile recruiting is a very simple process using only mobile devices (be it smartphone or tablet) or apps to recruit. It is a strategy meant to attract and convert candidates in a much easier and faster way. However, it goes not only one way, applicants use it as well in order to find job opportunities for they believe it to play an important role in the process. Statistics tell us that 45% of job seekers use their mobile devices while searching jobs. So in other words, mobile recruitment is about leveraging mobile technology to either act as recruiter or engage candidates(2).

Social media recruitment

87% of recruiters are active on LinkedIn, 55% of them use Facebook, and we find 54% on Twitter and 51% of companies have successfully hired employees through social media. On the other hand, 48% of people found their last job through social media. Therefore, social media is a non negligible aspect nowadays as the youngest and future generations are and will be very active on social media. This method is beneficial for businesses since there are more devices connected than there are people on earth. Recruiters can look for candidates faster and at practically no cost at all. In addition to that, there are many different tools that will allow them to not only reach their target audience, but also see whether or not the candidate would fit in the culture of the company(3).

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Given that nowadays AI is being implemented into practically anything (cars, personal assistant devices…), it is not surprising to see that it is also used to find the right profile for a job. AI is used for screening the candidates and is meant first to cut down the repetitive and high volume tasks of the recruitment process. Secondly, to improve the quality of hire through standardized job matching. It is very convenient all this automatization but it requires simultaneously lots of data. AI is getting more and more intertwined into recruitment processes. It might eventually be fully integrated into the system. Experts believe it to be able to change the recruiter’s role and to enhance human aptitude and efficiency.

Augmented Reality (AR)

As technology develops we find multiple ways in which it can be used and boost productivity. Well, turns out in the HR sector a way of using Augmented Reality has been found, likewise. HR implemented AR in order to boost the candidate experience by making them, as some have used it, have a walk through the workspace, participate in a client meeting or any relevant activity basically. This will allow recruiters to have a quick glance at the candidate’s aptitudes which is much more profitable for them.

Big Data Analysis

Most hiring managers and experts in the sector do believe that data is actually driving new recruitment trends that impact on a company’s search for new talents. Through this data, talent managers get access to insights that help them with their hiring decisions. Which means that they need to come up with a strategy that makes use of that data acquired to make intelligent hiring decisions. Therefore, they need to leverage data to help them find, nurture, manage and hire top talents. In a nutshell, the battle in the recruiting area is getting tougher and tougher. Thus all businesses need to put on their innovative gears if they want to find the best talent. Using some of the technological advancement and all the features at their disposal, businesses can easily search, screen, and hire the one applicant that is best fit for the employer’s requirements.
